European Business is proud to announce that this year’s event is generously sponsored by De Bortoli Wines.

Established in 1928, De Bortoli Wines is a third generation family wine company established by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli. The couple emigrated to Australia from Northern Italy, from mountain villages at the foothills of the Italian Alps, near the historic town of Asolo.

De Bortoli has expanded into some of Australia’s best known wine regions across Victoria and New South Wales including the Yarra, King and Hunter Valleys from its original base in Bilbul, in the Riverina region of southern New South Wales.

In New South Wales, the Riverina produces the acclaimed Noble One, world class fortified and premium varietal wines while the Hunter Valley is renowned for the unique character and longevity of its Semillon and Shiraz wines.

In Victoria the Yarra Valley is recognised for its cool climate wines made from classic varieties notably Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Viognier, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the north east the King Valley is establishing a reputation for its delicious European style wines.

Steve Webber (Chief Winemaker of De Bortoli, Yarra Valley) will be leading us through the night on an interesting journey comparing quality European and Australian wines. Steve has received much recognition for innovation and wine-style development including being awarded the 2007 Winemaker of the Year by Gourmet Traveller Wine. He is an active senior wine show judge and was one of the leaders in the Melbourne Wine Show revolution as Chairman of judges in 2008-2010.

Come along and enjoy an evening of wine tasting with an award-winning winemaker from a world class winery as we graze on complimentary canapés.

Please note, numbers are strictly limited to 40 people for this event. If you wish to attend, please register here. Please advise of any dietary requirements.
